I see people posting random lllll.com's for sell in the domain selling forum, and i think its silly honestly. Do people really want to jump onto these? 5 chars is actually alot, and there are alot of actual 5 letter domains left which actually mean something and arent random letters. i can understand up to 4 character domains being good, but after that it seems to get a bit. Do any of you like these 5 char domains and want to jump onto them? or are you like me and just think its silly? So what happens in a few years when all the 5 letter domains are gone? We're going to go to 6, and then to 7? When does it stop?
I heard the same thing about 4 character .com's (but now you can't register them). The same will eventually happen to 5 Letter's (Lot's of developing countries are gaining access to the internet now).
As zelphics said, eventually they'll all be gone, and at some point in time, someone will want it for whatever reason. To me it's the same as some people think the .me extension is the next greatest thing, while others don't. Domaining is an investment, and there's always risk involved...
i registered a good 5 letter .com domain last month. it's the catchy initials of a good song by slayer. i was actually surprised it was available. after further research i found out it was released in late May 08.
I wonder is it really important to have a LLLLL.com. Considering that you can eventually have your own TLD registered later.
yawn, poor investment just following regex pattern matching, its all fueled by hype not actual demand (end users fuel this market, lets be serious). good domains alays around to be regged if you got some brains and willing to research
This could be one strong factor. I would not register random 5 letter domains though. They'd have to be meaningful or highly brandable and pronouncable for me to consider them as an investment. .
