Do people buy permanent links?

    I'd like to buy some text links on 2 or 3 sites related to mine. I've taken the advice of another DPer who was talking about this - can't remember who I'm afraid - and emailed some sites asking if they would like to exchange links, and if they are not interested I have offered them 50 euro for a link on their home page.

    Are there many sites out there that would accept this price for a permanent home page link? Does this concept of permanent link buying even exist or is it always monthly?

    I've never bought links before so any advice would be appreciated!

    Search through the link sales thread. Several people on DP offer various kinds of permanent links.

    Be aware that when you buy a permanent link the seller may just dump the site after all links are sold and neglect the site.

    I sell permanent links on my arcade sites game play pages but not on the homepage. I would have to charge something like $5,000 minimum for a homepage link. And I don't think people would bite at that price.

    The price of a permanent link will depend mainly on the PR rating of the website you place your link on. Prices tend to be higher for higer PR sites.

    Watch out for fake PR... do your homework first.

    Depends on who is buying and who is selling. In my opinion, traffic is a lot more important than PR. I price based on traffic, not PR.

    Many of DPer sell permanent links in “Link Sale” Thread. Every thing depends upon you if you have more funds then you will purchase life time site wide high PR links.

    Many of DPer provides good discount on purchasing life time high PR sitewide links. But if you have fewer funds then take monthly rental site wide links or purchase Link page links.

    Always site wide links are more costly then link page links.

    shahab6: PageRank can be faked by, for example, using frames or iframes. So for eg. if the homepage has PR5 and an internal page has PR4 then the internal page would *seem* to have PR5 also as it is in a frame.

    Thanks for your tips guys. At the moment I'm just looking out for similar websites to my own and contacting them personally, but I may yet try some directories.

    You may want to consider some factors before buying permanent links.

    1) What guarantee will you have that the link will be there 90 days from now after your credit card chargeback rights expire.

    2) What happens if the site changes owners and the new owner decides to redesign it.

    3) What if that page lose PR or is banned in the future.

    You are welcomed to join our link network on a monthly basis, where members links page have attained high PR, as published at Link Exchange

    It's not neccesary to have link on home page. It's more important to place link on relevant page and very preferably with unique content.

    So I would select the following criterias for buying links:

    1. Relevant web page; needed keywords in text;
    2. Content have to be unique;
    3. PR of the page where link will be placed;
    4. Attendance of the page
