Do PageRank prediction tools really work?

    So do they?

The one at www.iWEBTOOL.com seems to work well, but it says that VirtualDN.com is a Future PR 4 when it's a 0 now and I haven't done hardly any SEO on it...

    Thanks,
    -Matt

none are. no way of knowing until it happens. you have a better idea yourself of future pr because you usually know where you have incoming links from.

Tools like this use MSN or Yahoo indexed links and different algorithms to predict future PR. Don't trust that methods.

Not unless they are made by google. The way these pageran "prediction" tools work, is that they query all of googles servers and if 90%(just throwing a number) of them return a PR7, and the other 10% return a PR6, and your website is currently PR7, they will "predict" that during the next update the PR will change to PR6.

I have greate douts that any prediction tools works, I have used many and based on their prediction my future positioning look so bright that I stoped doing much. I was in the top 10 on yahoo and msn , now while msn still holds it yahoo down it to the 3d tens, that is not good at all there is no traffic there, non what so ever. http://www.canadaone.org - check yourself

I have tested around 20 different tools on 4 different sites before the last update and i think i only got one correct prediction. It was probably a fluke anyway.

i wouldn't take such tools seriously either. at least not more seriously than 10 days weather forecast... the same probability prediction will come true

iwebtools says ebay will drop from pr9 to pr7. I think that is evidence that future pr perdictions are useless...

I have found this one pretty good:
    http://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.php
    for toplevel pr.
But then I checked one page down from the toplevel:

Your current Google PageRank is 4. Based on our calculations, we predict your future PageRank after the next Google update will be 10, an increase of 145.00%.

Hm, wouldn't that be something ;)
