Do Outbound links reduce your page weigth ?

What about using rel="nofollow" does that help as well? With outbound links?

 

I understand what you are saying, but in this network or web, dont you think only the hub gains ?

I believe what you are saying about creating a small network of site, would be a good seo technique for the hub site..... You could have well written small site, with good content, point to your main site.

But Im having a hard time believing that If I sell playstation, pointing to www.sony.com will benefit me much in the eyes of SE. Maybe visitors will think my website is more serious by linking to an authoritive site.

 

I agree with this completely Phlegm. I think that linking out to sites should be a natural process, and it should improve its value to visitors. However, I do think that a nofollow tag can be useful when linking out to sites that are still relevant, but not necessarily authoritative. Why waste the link juice right?

Which site are you talking about? No, don't use a nofollow...nofollow's are bad...down with the nofollow tag. Haha!

 

But where is it being wasted? If you buy in to the whole 'linking out reduces your own PR' argument, then I can see why you may be worried. But by that measure be sure to leave some milk and cookies out for Santa lest you have a rotten Xmas

 

With that attribute you dont transfer PR from your website to that outbound link. Will be a "simple" link.
