DO NOT USE 1AND1. Worst web host on the planet hands down.

    I woke up to find 1and1.com had deleted all of my databases(running multiple live sites).

    How did this happen? I paid to upgrade to a dedicated server from a regular package. I continued to use my databases for months. Suddenly, 1and1 delete all of my databases, taking my sites offline.

    They also took more than a week to perform the "upgrade", in which they apparently did absolutely nothing. They sure as hell didn't move my databases.

    I am assuming -

    you paid to upgrade to a dedicated server,
    when after you moved your files ( i assume) you continue to use your old hosting account, with 1&1

    and after they deleted your old account due to non payment, because you already upgraded
    , your sites are no longer working.

    correct?

    I paid to upgrade to dedicated, continued to use the standard DB system.

    Suddenly, they delete the databases without any warning. Not for non-payment, as part of the their upgrade process...

    dedicated = separate server
    they will have to MOVE the actual database to new server { as opposed to just changing permissions to a new account}

    i don't think they will be able to do it, , because most of the time, databases etc are password protected etc
    ( access passwords, they are sometimes separate from hosting login url)

    { i am not referring to the login to phpmyadmin and downloading sql file.} that anyone can do

    open the support ticket, and ask them whats the issue clearly

    Who was responsible for the migration of your data to your dedicated server?

    If 1&1 was the one responsible...Did they have moved your databases to your dedicated server? if yes, you can check your websites configurations files to see if the login/pass/server creditentials fit with your new dedicated.

    You don't have any backups of your database?
