www.instantdomainsearch.com is a rip off !!!! Guys, this is the third time I've used this site to search for the availability of a domain name, and went back the next day to buy it only to see it was bought a few hours after I searched it. The first two times I thought it was just a coincidence although I should have know better from the the first time, but the third time I realized what was happening. If you search for a domain name on that site over and over and over...... the system makes a record of the domain name once it's either short or contains a "premium" keyword in it. If the domain name is searched multiple times, it shows that someone is interested in the domain name. But this only happens with "premium" names or names that seems to be worth something. If the domain www.seo.com was available, and I went on that site and searched that name multiple times, the next day I'm sure to see it taken!!! I've searched domain names using that site and went to register the name in my local business registration department. If I don't have money on my card to purchase it at the moment, I usually come back the other day to purchase it, feeling happy that I've found a "premium" and brandable domain name only to see it parked. Stay away from that site!!
Dude, I've read through everything on their site. I've been on the internet long enough to know all of that without even reading their "FAQs" on how domain registration works. If I find a domain name available on their site, I instantly go to GoDaddy and a list of other registrars to confirm the availability. On top of that, when these domain names are "taken" it's the same parking page they all have. Coincidence huh? Well I also check their whois to see when was the first time they were registered and it happens to be the day I search the availability multiple times. This happens with their safe search option selected (HTTPS).
Do they have the same registrant or domain owner, though? And rather than check other registrars, better check the Registry because that's where everyone bases their search results from anyway. Also why not just be ready to register the domain name on the spot, payment and all? I understand a bit if it's for a client, but not for personal use.
Well like I said in my first post, sometimes I don't have the funds on my card so I put it on the next day and come back to buy. All of the WHOIS information concerning the owners is private. Two of the domain names are now in operation while one remains parked at a "for sale" page. I am watching them to see if they will be available again by next year because they were my initial options and still remains my preferred choices for my business. I have change my proposed business name at my local business name registry and found a great domain name to go with it. I know better now so I thought I'd warn DP user. I actually use to register domain names through their referral links so they'll be compensated. Guess they thought that money through referrals isn't enough.
