Curious if the section is even active enough to require a forum moderator.

I didn´t know you can sing since you were always in audience, clapping the admins and repeating, bravo, bravo, DMOZ can do no wrong. Do you remember the post that you wrote to justify everything which is wrong with DMOZ? It is a sticky on top of the that section, I bet you wish it wasn´t. :)

That sticky note is the most informative thing in that cesspool of a forum, and doesn't say what you suggest.

Try having someone who is literate read it to you.

If you say so then it must be right. After all I am full of admiration for your ingenuity and persistence to turn every volunteer and hobby work to full fledge business enterprise. :)

I see you have not lost your taste for name calling though. You must be proud of the way you treat people (yes, trolls are people too).

The sticky in that board has many flaws and does not speak the whole truth. Sadly it was locked so the truth can't be told within it.

Thats right, he can not read at all... he just randomly slams on his keyboard and you keep resorting to personal attacks because of it.

Its really sad that members on digital point can treat other members the way you do and get away with it.

This useless exchange is representative of every thread in that forum. Makes a good case for my proposal to remove.
Having a separate subforum for dmoz is unnecessary. It's a playground for trolls that have no life.

I fully agree... WAY too much name calling that ends up derailing the threads.

Do you mean like people who put the time to start a thread and then ask the moderators to make it sticky so they can get some brownie points from DMOZ admins? What a short memory you have. What have you done to robjones who were shouting from top of every mountain, DMOZ CAN DO NO WRONG? :)

Q - As I haven't been active in there for a long time I can only guess the source
Probably a lot originates in a fella who did a whopping 6 adds at dmoz before devoting his life to talking about it. Even boasts about the month or so he was there in his sig ("I used to be an editor for DMOZ...") and now oddly has almost 3000 posts devoted to it. Go figure.

Wonder what guys like that will do when Shawn eventually removes that troll merry-go-round. Maybe they'll do something useful with their lives.

Gworld - I made that sticky at the request of a DP mod
They wanted a source of FACTUAL information, since the threads all devolved into useless pissing matches. You and Q alone combine for roughly 6000 posts exercising your odd obsession... so they needed someone that knew what they were talking about to provide a synopsis uninterrupted by silly flaming.

There you go again resorting to personal attacks... can't you ever post without such belittling statements, can't you talk about the ODP without making the threads about myself? Do you still really have a thing for me?

It would be different if I broke rules on the ODP, or if I had a habit of being banned here. But what rule did I break? Oh yeah, none... unless you want to count discussing the ODP in a board dedicated to that a broken rule *rolls eyes*

Derailing threads I'm not participating in must be quite a trick. I posted in there 4 times last year, 8 counting a thread that was moved there.

Gather you feel it was inappropriate to point out it might be more than mildly obsessive to work at something for maybe an hour, then devote several years, almost 3000 posts, and a sig to display expertise on the subject. The point is, that's the type that fills discussions in there with combative but uninformed bluster.

That subforum has long since outlived any useful purpose aside from providing a venue for such nonsense. As for where you two go when it finally dies, not really that interested, just hope I'm not there.

Why was a DP mod so interested to get a brownie points from a ODP admin and why did they chose you for such job? Didn´t some of senior editors in ODP post in internal forum that DP stands for "double penetration"? After reading the part about FACTUAL information, I just noticed that there is something else about you that I admire, your sense of HUMOR. :)

Except things we do aren't for brownie points from anyone (in case you haven't noticed).

Apparently you didnt see the opening paragraph in that sticky thread:

Changed that to red so you'd notice it.

I'd been out of dmoz for almost 2 years and didnt anticipate a return. No possible "brownie points" from Dmoz by having an ex write an FAQ.

Sorta blows the theory. Better luck next time.

Thats right Rob, you are not participating in this thread, and certainly not making personal attacks to anyone here. Sorry I brought it up...
