We may not like IE8 or any IE browser but the only reason we have to use it is because we have to make websites that work for the other people that use it. I use firefox for personal use. We have to understand most people are probably still on IE6 . Only those with new comps or those that IE7 actually worked on upgrading have IE7. Which means we have to make websites now for Firefox, IE6, IE7 and soon IE8!
to be honest i almost never use ie family since firefox was introduced. i use ff, seamonkey and flock
hmmm...i didnt c tht one coming you were rite not tht i never knew th option existed but last i remember trying tht one out it jus opened th link to the left of the active tab maybe it was in a older version or my perception based on some other experience (includes safari, mozilla for linux & beta versions of opera) so always ignored this feature. lately i have been using only IE, will update on the browser if i find out
Me 2, when I re-install windows my firefox is gone (duh) And than I've to open the shitty IE to download it -_- On-topic: I downloaded it and it...it...sucks? It displays my forum screwed up. Take a look at the banner here: http://www.soulgaming.info/index.php Visit it in FF2 and IE8..see the difference? o.0
you should never use beta products... btw on the download page it's given that the beta download is for web developers
dude ie is beta version ri8 now , so as usual it has some bugs. i always use firefox. its the best man.
Well it looks like I will be staying away from IE8 then! I personally use IE7, have tried FF, but it kept crashing on me! Is there really that much difference between them if all you do is surf the net? I cant see it my self. I do not know if it is defeatist or not, but to get a huge cross over from IE users to FF users, FF need to work (From a users point of view) like IE as this is what the "main" are used to, little things like adding to fav and the standard icons that are loaded onto the site as standard. I also noticed that FF did not display all the formatting icons on some publishing sites (like the ones in the Quick reply box) this was a little bit of a pain in the but. I am sure all of these are fixable if you know what you are doing and what adons are needed, but the general IE user probably wont know how to do this.
Firefox is certainly the best... just that IE is better to look at... but nothing beats FF at usability!
