Do not do this in Network Marketing

Don't be pushy and desperate towards people. They can feel it right away. Network with them and find out more about them. Then you can see if there's a fit for your business. Be yourself and really truly be honest. Look for people that are looking for you.

One of the turn offs in this industry is lack of leadership. If the leader does not lead and care about his people then people get frustrated and quit. If you do it right then you will have endless success.

Yes, this is one of the things to avoid while doing MLM...never be pushy and desperate even with your closed friends or else you will have NFL -- No Friends Left!

    These are very good points.

To add to that, as a marketing company, we like to think of marketing as sales. One of the main things that we teach our sales people when we hire them is don't be pushy.

You have all heard the term "Pushy Sales People" this is sort of the same thing. If you go to buy a car and your sales man is pushy all he is going to do is shy you away from what could have been a purchase, or worse yet, turn right around and go to your competitor.

This works the same way as Networking, the main network to worry about this is when working with Twitter. People sign up on Twitter to learn information and be connected not to be spammed with thousands of ads, services, or products every day.

Get to know your audience and network and you will find out that it works alot better.

Well, said. Networking Marketing on social networks is "take your time traffic generation". You have to take a little time to get to know the next man. You don't have to try to marry the person or anything. Just ask simple questions such as "Where are you from?" "What your business is about?" Etc. It can create high quality traffic to your website if done properly.

I would add, don't hit up all your friends and family. It's extremely straining to personal relationships

Yes, i must agree with this in particular! Friends and Family involved in business makes the relationship very strenuous and depleted! Its better to work with people who just have a common goal, so the relationship doesn't get damaged!

I agree, and this is what I always strive for. Sometimes the results are less than satisfactory though. It annoys me when people get results from promising things they can't deliver - such as titles on webpages like 'Make $300,000 in 2 weeks!' The approach you described is much better in the long run, and it's the one I take - and a lot of it is because I'm an honest person and won't mislead people.
