Few days ago I posted a thread looking for websites for sale. I've got few offers and one of them was a PM from user Mezmer. He/She offered me two websites at a good price and after a few emails I paid him for them but he didn't sent any domain or website files. He/She is using these emails and with the name Shilpa Agarwal. He doesn't own any of those websites as I found later.
I can see a negative feedback in his record, so why you trust him? Anyway thanks for the information.
Well, that negative feedback is more than an year old and he/she has 7 positives so I tough I can trust him/her now. I reported the transaction to PayPal and I let the seller know and now he/she made a refund. So I got my money back. Anyway, I think a moderator mush check his profile, those kind of users should not be allowed on DP.
Hey I also paid for one of those sites Got scammed. Too bad. File the paypal dispute and claim. Show them all proofs. Did you get an invoice before purchasing? Even if you didn't, you still have chances of getting your money back. She keeps telling me that her mother is sick and she can't log in! I can find out her home address. There are plenty of ways and I already have got much information about her. Don't ask how. Edit: She isn't smart enough to get away with a couple thousand bucks from us. She's from India and local police departments do have cyber cells now. If I don't get my money back, I am surely filing a complaint against her and trust me when I say that this schematic will end up costing her A LOT.
I already got my money back 1-2 hours ago. I told her that I found the real owner of those website, user dockfish(they know each other), that I filed a PayPal claim, I called the bank and that I'm going to file a claim at the bank. I made the PayPal claim as a I didn't authorized the transaction so that would have made everything faster and safer for me. But it seems she got scared and sent the money back(I gave her that option). Yeah, she had a similar story for me too, "Exactly after I made the payment last night she had to leave the office for an hour. After 5 hours she wrote from a BlackBerry that she had an accident and is in a hospital getting out today. She "forgot" the passwords for wordpress admin. The today she 'had' to spend more time in the hospital" but I realized it is a scam for sure and I took action.
You are lucky since you can still get the money back I always check the member itrade before making deal with them And i found some of them are making multi account too, one of the member have 15 positive itrade but all those people give itrade to him/her are given itrade in between themself, so be aware too
When did you sent the money? I sent them yesterday night and 3-4 hours ago I got them back. But only because she issued a refund after my emails.
This was fraud. I'm not going to be satisfied with just the money. I talked to the cyber crime helpline (and some official I know) and am visiting them tomorrow.
Well, as I got them so fast I'm happy just with them. Most of the time you don't get anything back. Around two years ago I was scammed with a domain(I was the seller), an he paid with a stolen card and the money went back to the card's owner. I was able to get the money back ONLY because the buyer made the mistake of selling it right away to somebody via wire transfer, I contacted him and he requested his money back from the bank and sent them to me. But I heard a lot of stories where people never get any money back.
seems the situation is not that bad, I have been scammed once, but I got nothing back after 5 days effort.
This person scammed me as well for two CV/resume sites. She posted on wickedfire. Took $800 usd from me and then stopped talking. She was very well spoken and up front at the beginning, and I gave her some slack when "her mom had a stroke", and she said she would send the details tomorrow. Lol...not going to be nearly as trusting next time. At any rate, paypal says they will send me the money back...but who knows..
