Do new sites get a boost on serps?
I just created this site today with only 28 pages and was really surprised to see visitors already to my sites.
And I rank well on those keywords. I even had one keyword for #2 for 7.2 million results.
This keywords have daily amount of searches.

Just a question how long will I drop from the serps if this is just a boost form google? Will I stay there for at least 24 hours?

Google shows love to kids :) Normally it stays for few hours. But the rankings would keep shuffling. I've enjoyed such sweet boost for many of my websites.

Happens a lot, maybe you can hold some positions for 2-3 weeks. Then, bye bye :)

Yeah, it is definitely a temporary boost! Sooner or later your keywords will be place in their right position. It would drop down or even loss. :)

can someone spell S.A.N.D.B.O.X ? that's a little tease that you experience with a new site, get's us excited and then boom !!! where'd all my pages go ? and then panic .... generally a new site will experience the Sandbox for several months after the initial tease .... apparently to stop people from buying and spamming new domains with the intent to build their own links back and forth.

I have always got the boost and then leveled off, I never dropped out completely afterwards for any amount of time. That I noticed anyway.

I have, I had 2000 pages indexed on a new site with 1000s of page views a day from G! alone and then boom .... all gone in a flash .... sand boxed apparently.

I think Google loves newbies coming and trying the SE. In order to give them a boost it offers them with some ranking in the first couple of days but in order to capitalize on that you need to constantly work towards bettering it. Keep doing positive things and you may see positive results soon.
