Do new browsers allow a link to be masked?

I tried to hide my affiliate links instead of making a ton of redirects. I tried all the codes listed on forums I searched through Google, old and new threads. NONE of the scripts worked. :(

I even found the easiest way possible, a online script generator with instructions.

The example link that was displayed on the site after I made the code didn't even work. I'm thinking that it must be my browsers. I'm using the latest Firefox and Safari browser through Snow Leopard. Is making URL's still possible with the latest browsers? If no, I guess I'll have to make a bunch of redirects...

If by masking you mean your link not to be displayed in the status bar of the browser, then you can use javascription function. That is if I understand you correctly.

For affiliate link hiding I use http://www.hideaff.com.
Submit your URL and you will get code. Put your code in blank html page and upload to your server.
Then you make link to uploaded page and your affiliate link will be previewed.
