Hello DP members, I have a teen forum. We have 34,000+ posts but not much members.Maybe I don't know the tips on how to promote it? What should I do? I have 34000+ posts and only 300 members.. I have been planning for that too. I am just trying to get more sign ups here and there. This is also a short way or promotion. I have bought a lot of text links to promote its PR.
If you have a budget I'd convert to Vb also. I noticed that signups to forums increased with a better design.
IPB isn't all that bad, although I would also just switch to vB if you have the money. What I would do is have a referral contest. State in the beginning that you will check for proxy usage, and IPs incase of fraud. Then, when the amount of members grow, and the posts decrease, just send an email to all the members offering an incentive. Maybe for them to be paid per post, or something like that. Be creative. The problem is.... it is a teen site. Where teenagers come who are 13 or 16.. generally of the area where people arent earning via internet. Say, dont even know what is paypal or do people really earn through internet? That case, isnt possible to make a referral contest. What I need maybe is to get content and extra features and drag traffic from SE and referrals if anyone did. I am planning to spam around my forum link in active forums.. is it wise to do that?
