    Hi,

Do new links count more than old ones? if I link to my site from a page which doesn't change at all over time, will it have the same relevance after a year?

    Thanks,
    Nick

If I was Google I'd value more new links, this is a way to make new web content more important. I'm not sure if it works that way though. Anyone had any experience with this?

I think Google takes in the time factor of the links and the updating of the website. If you do not update the website for a year, and no new link for a year, I think the page rank is going to drop.

It's better to get a link from a website that frequenly updates. Although it's not necessary that the page (where your link is) should be updated all the time.
Google and others prefer old links as links mature they provide more quality and show that it's a natural and not bought link.
