Hey, I've been recently wondering about link ads: do you actually make a lot of money from them? It's always seemed to me that 1) it stands out too much as an ad and 2) it brings you to a google ad page, so people have to go further and click on there, too, in order to get money. Can someone tell me if these ads are bringing them any money? I want some personal "success" stories as proof, as opposed to "yes, they work for certain sites." Thanks.
People say, if your Link Ad unit placement are good enough, you will get more clicks. I get more clicks from Content Ad unit, pay higher too.
There have been days where the link ad will bring me in the most money. It really depends on positioning though. It's either hit or miss it seems like.
It's all in the numbers. Why would you sacrifice an additional 1% of clicks with one link unit? However, I can guarantee it won't just be 1%. It will increase your earnings while you have the same amount of traffic. Research -> Test -> Optimize ->Implement. And when you do that, repeat it all the time, when necessary.
