Currently I’m trying to overtake competitor’s site in SERP and when I checked the number of backlinks to their site I noticed that most are inner links. I was surprised to notice that Google actually recognized them as normal links. Do inner links count towards SERPS and PR?
yes thes do, they help a lot, first they pass pr juice back to the homepage and they also stop you from looking like a piece of spam 100% links to ww.sitename.com = possiblilty of being spam 75% - red flag for you 60% links to ww.sitename.com 10% links to ww.sitename.com/page1 5% links to ww.sitename.com/page2 5% links to ww.sitename.com/page3 5% links to ww.sitename.com/page4 10% links to ww.sitename.com/page5 5% links to ww.sitename.com/page6 = possiblilty of being spam = a hella lot less
I thought inner links were worthless. I guess I best link a few pages Do you guys think that linking extensively between three content related sites is a good idea? If ones site's page about cars links to the other site's pages about cars?
well, yes they do help, if you have a lot of links that point to your inner pages, thats mean you have a good content this will make your website look natural and help your global rankings.
JP (from Nichesinbox.com) once said that he gets his sites to PR4 ONLY by doing a good inner linking..
I don't know where I've been all this time . My sites have many good inner pages with pagerank that in this way could really be explored.
