do i post linkbait on my site or on article directories and blogs?

    hey people,

    please let me understand how link bait is working.

    should i put it on one of my site`s pages? than how is it helping me to promote my homepage?

    or should i put it on blogs and articles directories and than link to my site homepage? but in this way everyone will link to this article but i will get only one link from the article i publish...

    how exactly this work?
