My sites are having problems connecting to mysql. Here is my server information.

    Operating system Linux
    Service Status Click to View
    Kernel version 2.6.9-67.0.15.EL
    Machine Type i686
    Apache version 1.3.41 (Unix)
    PERL version 5.8.8
    Path to PERL /usr/bin/perl
    Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail
Installed Perl Modules Click to View

    MySQL version 4.1.22-standard

Do I need to update MySQL and if I do is there a tutorial somewhere that I can use as a reference?

PHP4 is EOL, and MySQL is almost to 5.1. I would definitely upgrade to PHP5 and MySql 5.

Are you using cpanel for your control panel? If so, you can upgrade everything within WHM.

Otherwise, it's really impossible to guess what is the problem without seeing error messages and a lot more.
