Do I need to tell google?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by lialexander, Nov 30, 2006.

I am posting this thread because I am a little bit concerned about this.
I click my ad by accident once today ( I know I should not), the truth is I have done this whenever I first start adsense, I told google , they suggested that I should install preview tool.

Should I be worried 'cause I clicked again? Should I tell google??
    Thanks for your help

i don't think just clicking once will result in termination of your adsense,i also click my own ads sometime if i find interesting.

Don't worry. They know it's you and just don't count the click.

In my opinion you should report.
    time + page + adblock + clicked ad {its url}.

I think you're all pathetically scared of google's monitoring.

They are rather lapse because due to aol cache's etc they can end up with a lot of false positives.

you have to be clicking a lot from the same exact ip with a high CTR to get banned.

What does your gut tell you? If you report, they will wonder why you did this again, after their advice.

I'm guessing that there is a level for each account that once reached, you're out of there. One click should not raise you to this level.

I'm also guessing that each email is attached to your account (a history if you will) and building a history of false clicks would not be a good idea. I highly doubt they will look at it and give you credit for honesty, more like tag your account for low payout.

I myself have done this many times and each time I asked myself the same question. In the end, I decided not to report it and all is well.

But, go with your gut. What worked for me may not work for you.

Don't you just love a straight answer :)

Explain that it was completely accidental - a slip of the mouse.

And 010081, why would you click your own ads? Sure way to get banned. Just click on the "Ads by Google" link and it shows the sites avertising in the URL.
