Do I need the 1 x 1 pixel img to make sure my clicks are counted?

The reason why I ask is because I'm using OIOPublisher on my website to manage banner ads and there is only a spot for one URL and one image.

I use the link to the campaign and follow it with the banner image.

Will this be enough to ensure it keeps track of my sales?

Is the 1 x 1 pixel image even necessary?

    Thanks in advance

It is probably to counter cookie stuffing. They would verify that the clicks is not over a certain ratio of the image impressions. Just a guess though.

Ok, so it sounds like this is not recommended then.
