I tell you something, I applied for adsense with site where I don't place any ads anymore, but on my other sites I see sometimes old ads (very specyfic topic). This is strange sometimes :)

    This is an interesting question.

AdSense team has no way to verify site ownership.

Thinking of this, I actually applied for AdSense with a site that is registered in my partner's name (not mine) and the site I applied with has absolutely no record of my name within the contents of the site, so you can't really link it to me personally.

This was not intentional as I *considered* the site to be mine and didn't think it was important at the time. It worked fine. I got accepted.

You should apply using your own website.
If you don't have a website, what's the point of applying to AdSense?
If you have a website that doesn't comply with the TOS, applying with another website and have the ads posted on your personal website will get your account suspended anyway.

i guess ownership of the site is irrelevant as long as google ads are out there and it applies to G's TOS, and google is making money out of it...:p

You can apply with a site that is not yours. If you are doing revenue sharing on a site, you can apply with that site.

This is also an interesting question in regard to why the OP is asking this, and furthermore, then following up about consequences if he doesn't.
