Do I HAVE to know SEO???

As a blogger? Honestly, Ive been doing lots of reading and trying to learn SEO, but the more I read the more discouraged I become. Why? Because even the basic stuff is confusing to me. I want traffic. So people can read my content. But to get traffic, you have to optimize so you can get noticed. So I'm spending hours each day Googling and reading and I'm still lost. I don't know how to fix my title. I don't understand the H1, H2 stuff. And really none of the other BASIC things.

This is really discouraging me. I want to devote the majority of my time developing quality content and building backlinks. I feel like I can't even comfortably move on to that piece until I get the basic SEO down.

And let's not even get started on key words and determining what key words are good. I am blogging about what I'm passionate about, so right there, I'm locked in, whether the keywords are good or not. My head is spinning.

I know you guys are pros and this is newbie crap, but I would much appreciate some feedback on this. I've been reading articles and blogs on SEO on many different websites. But all of this research is starting to distract me from my blog content development. I'm getting burnt out on reading about SEO and I STILL haven't implemented a single thing because I don't know how.

    Sorry so long.

Article Distribution is a powerful way to promote your business. Try writing about a topic that relates to your website and offer some free useful information, it will bring many visitors to your site.

learning SEO will help you to improve your site/blog...its a plus factor...

maybe you should start focusing in the specific task that you want to learn before moving on to the next, learning by yourself is really hard...you may seek some advice from the knowledgeable people in the forums...they might help you to easily understand it...good luck!! :)

At first SEO is really hard to understand but in the long run if you're really dedicated to what you're doing you'll love learning it.

Hey everyone, thanks for your feedback. I think I would be able to enjoy the SEO part of blogging a little more once I understand the basics and get it taken care of on my site. The concepts seem so simple and yet I am having a time grasping them.

Ok yeah so I did the keyword search. But I don't know what I'm looking for. :p Anyway, thanks for your responses. I will keep working on it. :)

We all started from where you are now my friend.

First things first. Do you have a website or are you blogging on other peoples websites?

H1 H2 and H3 tags are basically title tags with H1 being the most important. Just like in ms word. Most bloggin sites will automatically make the title of your post a H1 tag so just check in source code and check!

Now for looking at keywords. best thing to do is google "keyword suggestion tool" and click on the google link. Can't post url in here cos of my post count.
Type a list of about 10 keywords and get results. Now you want to sort them into average search volume order and see what the figures say.

Look to see if you want to compete with the main keywords (higher search volume) or try and pick up all of the small traffic from the less so competitive keywords.

Then you need to do some backlinking. I would suggest find people to do this for you if you haven't done it in the past and haven't got time to do it. We are going to be offering a service for this soon via social bookmarking sites.

    sorry about that.

bit of knowledge about seo can make you write article that reaches more people. for instant if you know the importance of keywords and the density of keywords and the new keyword trends, you can frame your articles compatible in that way, with out losing the basic idea.

I am not sure, I could express it properly. but it does help a lot.
