Thanks for answering My current plan is to finish High School, and move to the US after a few years. I just love the US, althought, I am sure there are many nice countries to move to.
There is no job in this world that will get you to be a millionaire that you couldn't have gotten without college. The problem is, everybody wants thows kinds of jobs, but only few get them.
I once read an article about this, and it's conclusion was that NO you don't need higher education to become rich, although a higher education would improve your chances. The article said that alot of people went through the higher education route, so started working years later than those who didn't. And the money they earned was used to pay off their education loans. Those who went to work immediately after the left school had a head start on finances and making money.
Finish HS which is important. You will need education but it doesn't have to be college. IT has a lot of alternative routes.
I lot of people feel that they can make it bid without going to school, few do so though. If you have an opportunity to go to school you should take it, what ever you learn no one can take that away from you.
Thanks for answering guys. Right now I have pretty good grades after a lot of hard work. However, why should I work hard for grades if I am not going to college? Therefore, should I just focus on not flunking then? Also, I am not trying to be lazy here, just investing my time properly.
Well, since you're spending time there the most productive use of that time would be to learn as much as possible. If you accomplish that, the grades just come naturally
College is not for everyone, consult your doctor before use. You don't have to, there are many ways to become rich.
My opinion: yes. It depends what you want to do to become rich. If you already have a plan totally figured out, and it includes becoming self-employed, selling things on the internet, .. then maybe you don't need it. Although some courses you get can help you when you run your own business. (so you have a background of legal/accounting/..) As long as you don't know exactly how to get rich, don't have an exact plan yet, then I suggest you study and develop yourself as much as you can. A good degree will help you get started at a good company when you can make a career (as a starter, most 'big' companies just check what degree you have, if you don't have a specific degree they just don't hire you, no matter what your background/experience is).. Once you build up an impressive resume it's much easier to switch to another job that you'll enjoy and that pays well.. Going to college/university will also help you meet a lot of people. This is one advise I want to give to everyone still studying: don't spend all your time behind your computer, on the internet, ... get out and network with people. Get to know everyone (or as many people as you can). You don't have to become best friends with everyone, but make sure you know everyone by name, have contact info, .. and they know you ! Your network of people will be very valuable later in life. If you really want to make it in business, it's not who you are that matters but who you know. On a site like linkedin.com you can keep track of people you know.. once everyone is graduated and starts to work, people will have very different careers. Knowing what everyone does at a specific company, can help you later with your own career.. even if you become self-employed later, have your own company, .. your network of people can help you and your own business. You may want to get in a large company but don't know who to contact or you don't get past some secretary ? In your network of people you may know someone who knows an upper level manager who can introduce you and your company..
In order to become rich, no you don't need to go to college. you need to earn money for that. After my 10th grade i went to high school for some month and i really got bored, i thought that wasn't my destiny and now i work hard and earn thousands of dollars per month and it's just the beginning, btw i am 20 yrs old.
We all die some day, and as Ecclesiastes told us: "Everything is meaningless...under the sun", we should live for a higher calling
You don't have to do anything really to be rich. You just start where you're at right now, and work towards where ever it is you would like to go. For some, college is an opportunity infront of them and they utilize it. For others, working at a job and investing wisely is enough. So my answer is NO, you don't HAVE to go to college in order to be rich.
No, you don't have to go to college to be rich. However, you SHOULD go to college in order to get yourself an education. Education is always more important than money, because education can take you places. There are many ways to be rich, but the only way I can guarantee you to be rich is if you go to college, study medicine, and become a doctor. Other than that, good luck, because you'll be needing it. -Saam
