    Hi

My goal in life is to become rich. Do I have to go to College to be that? For many years I have been working hard with my grades. Which has payed off to good results now. However, I am 19 years old now and only a junior in High School. This is because I had a year of on an American High School. Furthermore, I am extremely persistent and like taking risks, sorry if someone feels that is bragging.

Thank you very much for answering ;)

No you don't have to. Bill gates didn't go to collage and he's plenty rich. Local tycoons in my country also never went to collage but the went on to become very successful.

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: That depends on your own level of creativity, resource management, and luck.

The edited part: Although going to school is necessary for certain careers, there's no way around that. But if your goal is to get rich - you don't need college. You -do- however, need to decide how rich you want to be, and how you plan to get there. The most cliche advice is also the most accurate: Build your career on what you like, and find something valuable about it you can market.

It all depends on you how you want to take it. If you feel you can do something big without going ahead with college then go for it. Or else go ahead with your college and at the same time you can do whatever you want to.

There are 4 option that you can choose from to get rich

    1. Business
    2. Investment.
    3. Self Employed
    4. Employee

I think out of 4, 2nd is the quickest one to get rich which doesn't need to go to college for getting Certificates.

    Good luck :)

No you don't need to go to college to be rich but it will give you a wonderful head start in life. College is not all about learning from books, you learn a lot just talking to people as well. If you can afford it go to college, you won't regret it.

Education is good for your future...although your own abilities can drive you to your scope:making plenty of money without a superior education...it's only up to you;)

Its not necessary but the statistics say it helps... If you want to start a business that is the best way to get rich (its also extremely risky) and you have to consider what kind of money you're going to have to invest into the project. If you have to support yourself on a low-paying job you won't have much time or money to invest into another project. It really depends on the circumstances and how well you can learn things on your own :)

90% of the classes in college are useless you have to sit there for 4 hours to learn how to look some one in the eyes, and take another class on shaking hands. In all reality even if you needed to learn how to do these things if it takes you 4 hours to learn them then your retarded and there’s no help for you. Anyways if you ask me if you’re over 18 and you do not all ready have these skills you’re a dummy and probably always will be. You can probably squeeze all the actual learning that you would really get from a 4 year degree into about 3 months. One of the reasons they throw all the crap classes in there is because of state funding, and how much can we milk these people for. Every one i know with college degrees makes under 9 dollars an hour they never got a career or did anything with what they supposedly learned all they got was a piece of paper that lets them say I am smart at this then you say well you pump gas for a living, and they reply "if I was going to do what I learned in college I would have to move halfway across the world or have 5 years experience at another company". Another thing about college is, unless you know for sure exactly what you want to do and like to do you should not waste your time. I was 25 before I truly found out what it was that I wanted do. If there’s something you want to learn then I recommend using the computer there is free information on everything in the world on the internet and if you dig deep enough free classes, tests, popup programs, tools, and whatever you need you just have to take 10 minutes to find it. Why does anyone need another person to watch them read a book, I say read the book and if you got a question go to a forum and ask away for free and from the privacy of your own home. And as far as getting rich Play the Lottery LOL.

What you need to keep in mind that education and its importance depends on the country you live in. American education system can be indeed pointless. The exchange students iv met could not even do 45 + 62 without a calculator.

I guess that's your opinion. I'm 27 and only started taking my degree now. When I was younger I always said I would never go to Uni because it was a wast of time and it basically didn't interest me. Today I really regret that especially since all the people that are my age and have a degree earn more than I do.

In reality you can be rich with or without a degree. The fact is that a degree gives you extra skills that will enable you to get a better job. Making a lot of money has more to do with persistence and hard work than anything else.
