Do I get paid just for impressions?

I've had Google on my site for about a month now. Haven't had an enormous amount of traffic, I'm still working on that, but I have a question about "Page Impressions".
I've been searching around all morning for the answer to this question, and all I can find is formulas and ratios, but I want to know, do I get paid for (or rather earn revenue) for impressions alone?
    Anything?
I realize that earnings are based on several variables, and not as desirable as clicks obviously, but can I make anything on impression?

I believe google pay for impressiones when the advertiser picks your site to display their ads.

PPC and CPM ads bid, and the highest bidder gets their ad to display on your site.

Google pays ads for impressions if the advertiser has opted for it. Some ads may pay you few cents just for the impressions ..it basically depends upon the advertiser....

How the adsense revenue is calculated. Does google take no. of clicks X cost per click? Or it will see the no. of page impressions as well when evaluating for clicks??

I always thought that google pays for clicks only untill I added my link in "revenue sharing" program here at digital point forum. This is when I found out that google also pays cpm.

Google pays if your website is targetted by the advertiser. But minimum eCPM rates are very low, and ads will be displayed only if it is more than effective eCPM of PPC ads
