If I create a subdomain of my website do hits to that subdomain help with the alexa rank of my home page? for example my home page is http://www.evenhosting.com if I make http://www.yoursite.evenhosting.com and a lot of people visit http://www.yoursite.evenhosting.com does it help http://www.evenhosting.com's alexa rank? Here is the words from Alexa website ... =================================================== Alexa’s traffic rankings are for top level domains only (e.g. domain.com). We do not provide separate rankings for subpages within a domain (e.g. www.domain.com/subpage.html) or subdomains (e.g. subdomain.domain.com) unless we are able to automatically identify them as personal home pages or blogs, like those hosted on Geocities and Tripod. If a site is identified as a personal home page or blog, its traffic ranking will have an asterisk (*) next to it: Personal Page Avg. Traffic Rank: 3,456*. Personal pages are ranked on the same scale as a regular domain, so a personal page ranked 3,456* is the 3,456th most popular page among Alexa users. =================================================== but for me the answer is still not clear so do visitors to subdominas also affect Alexa rank for the main domain? Also is ifram traffics counts w.r.t. Alexa?
Regarding clicks the answer is No. Only if the visitor to the subdomain than clicks the home page than this will count as a click for ranking. On the other hand, page rank e rank (which determines Google rank) transfers from page to page if there are links between them. http://www.ozzu.com/other-search-engines/hits-subdomain-affect-alexa-rank-t70880.html
Yes I saw that answer and I took the first paragraph from there but the reason I submitted it here because simply I disagree, that is why I added Alexa words in this regards in which I think the answer is YES ... Anyone else think the same way ...
That is exactly what I think too, but I can interpret their text in both way. we need someone with good English-Documentation background to explain their text for us
I came to this thread by Google. After reading this threads, and other search results in Google. I found the explanation here. The words meant that Alexa does not give different rankings to different subdomains, but it includes the traffic of all the subdomains too. Hope it helps. http://cat-chitchat.pictures-of-cats.org/2009/04/do-subdomain-hits-improve-alexa-ranking.html
jitendraag so why is it that Alexa.com the only real way Alexa.com will work for you is a proven tactic you must be gaining more than 10,000 hits a day to your websites and blogs...... that will improve your Alexa ranking out right............... so don't go to Alexa.com and less you're sure you're getting a lot of traffic...... Your Alexa rating will only go up if you're getting times of traffic keep that in mind the best thing to do is work on blog posting form posting article writing directory submissions article submissions
Notice how blogspot blogs perform and you will get the exact ideas because blogspot blogs are subdomains. What confuses me sometimes is that , some blogspot blogs I visit get the actual rank for that domain while some get the original blogspot alexa rank. Maybe alexa was getting too consfused
Now I feel like I know the correct answer which is YES hits to a subdomain will improve the alexa rank of the main page.
