Hi all, Do hits to my website, either from key word searches or from Google adword clicks increase my sites ranking? Will my websites ranking go up the more hits I get? Thanks.
If you are talking about alexa ranking, yes. Alexa rank increases with more traffic from people with alexa toolbar installed. If you are talking about google page rank, answer is no. Google pagerank depends mainly on the backlinks.
The OP is referring to SERP listings. Basically, Iotrez is asking: In search results, if I get more traffic for a particular keyword, will my ranking go up for that keyword in future? In my honest opinion and experience, the answer is a firm no.
Actually I wouldn't completely dismiss that hits from keyword searches don't play a part - a small part, but a part. Google have said there are over 200 factors that play into the algorithm, so it could well be one of them. I wonder - is there a list anywhere of what experienced SEOers think those 200 factors might be? Somebody must have compiled one.
No it will not afffect Google pagerank...unless, of course, after visiting your blog they decide to link back
Well for you information traffics and rankings are different aspects of SEO, being hits your website will increased your traffic or alexa rankings. While rankings in google depends on how many backlinks your site have.
No, it won't. Last I heard, Google DOES have a patent for it, but they don't use it due to how EASY it would be to abuse. If you want to increase your rankings, I strongly suggest you read the Search Engine Optimization FAQ by John Conde and Chris Beasley's free comprehensive Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Guide.
