Do Grammatical Errors Matter?

    Hey all,

I'm running a blog in English (which isn't my mother tongue) and wondering how important it is not to have grammatical errors within articles. Do they not matter much as long as I have quality contents?

Let me know what you all think.

Yea they do matter..If you have a fun blog then I think its ok to write what you feel but in case its a info sharing blog then, grammar does matter
Why don't you do blogging in a language you know better?

I'm trying to experiment how adsense works in different languages.

I've revised only the latest article on my blog so it's grammatically correct. Other articles on my blog are TONS of grammatical errors... I was just curious what others think of it.

But high bounce rate doesn't mean low revenue in adsense?

Ocassion grammatical mistakes didn't matter for adsense however you must express your views in correct form using correct sense of English with spellings

It matters. Bad grammar makes a blog difficult to read. If you have to keep re-reading and concentrate just to work out what the blogger really means, you'll soon lose patience, shut that window and read something else.

Most likely the search engine bots will not be able to make out the difference but it will have large impact on visitors arriving at your site as they will most likely leave upon noticing the grammatical errors.

Agreed, reading through an article with grammatical errrors can be tiring. It can also make the author appear unprofessional.

Google uses the semantic technology to crawl and index all pages around the web, as far as I have learned this is the only way they can rank pages, bad grammar, spellcheck errors are all penalized and sites tend to go down in their ranks. Now I can`t argue too much on this issue for one good reason.. some of the top blogs out there have massive amounts of grammar and spellcheck errors and they still rank well in all search engines..

It can also affect delivering ads if you`re using adsense, I have experimented it for more than one year now...
Quality, well written content will always rank better and pay off .. :)

I would say, just do it.
People around the world can read your blog rather than a small region if you blog in your own language.
For me, it doesn't matter if there are grammar mistakes here and there as long as I can understand it.

Like you said, you revised some of your articles for grammatical error. That'll improve your grammar. You have to write to be a better writer, isn't it?

You already good in English if you can find grammar mistakes in your writing. That's it, just do it.

They do from the human perspective. If it is full of errors, people would be wary of it in the future.

As far as google and seo is concerned, I don't think that it matters.

it matters sometimes... when a searcher type a wrong spelling in google and matches your error... your article will appear on first place.. :D
