Ok so another newbie (sorry folks but we all started somewhere),
Have read on some sites that Google now concentrating on content rather than backlinks, true? I'm not sure! But I require PR2 at least to get accepted for Adsense, so do i keep trying to write good content and try get accepted or pay a backhander for linkjuice?
Paying for links kinda defeats the object of trying to make a few bucks on adverts. Any "tricks of the trade" regards applying to Google?

    Thanks in advance.,,,, Jimi.

The reality is, you won't get very far without both fresh content and links- unless the content is particularly viral. If you aren't willing to invest in your link building campaign, you may face a long road ahead dependant upon how competitive your niche is.

Content alone is not going to get you very far unless you promote the content itself to the extent that it grows virally. You will need a few quality and relevant links to your site to be recognised and ranked by Google. Submit your site to a few relevant directories, guest post on other blogs relevant to your theme and also (for the purpose of increasing recognition alone) comment on other relevant blog posts in your industry.
