Yes, they're nofollow. And the answer to the initial question is that google does count it as a backlink, however doesnt give it PR juice due to the nofollow attrib.
they are nofollow like wiki. But they have a very very slow value on pagerank.this is all about google algorithm and google -of course- do not allow spam by digg.
but I I have checked the source code of my digg story page.. I have found no nofollow tags in links.. But I never saw any backlink counted for digg for any of the sites.. and that is why I was asking this question.
An if you reach the front page you get thousands of backlinks. Since your link appears a couple of times for every user who dugg it.
Digg does use no-follow because they were getting spammed to death before they changed it. It will do your site no harm if you are bookmarked at Digg and may even generate a bit of traffic
lol.. its getting confusing post by post.. I'd like to hear from anyone who have digg backlink for his/her site..
If you are trying to make digg part of your strategy for building backlinks, think of somethign else. If this ever had been the case, digg/google would have sure caught on by now.
Why have they been banning accounts? Rather, what leads you to believe that the reason is the volume of diggs vs other behaviour?
