I find some exquisite reviews on Amazon products on various blogs and websites across the Internet. This only goes to show that well-written product reviews go a long way in enhancing the conversion of products. What do you think?
They do, but only for some products, mainly higher priced items because people are less likely to part with a high sum of money without good reason. Cheaper priced products on the other hand will sell without requiring a review. I promote a certain range of products that cost between $10-$30 and they sell like hotcakes without any reviews.
@JyeP - I do the same and have had great success with the cheaper, lower competition products. Not many associates are promoting the lower-priced stuff and so it's easy to crush it in that area.
That's exactly right, people don't bother with low end products because the earning rates are so low, but they are also 10 times easier to sell.
I have personally found that adding reviews does bring better conversions. The reason is that many people who are on Amazon are looking for products and would like to get the feedback on a certain product before purchasing. If you can create a quality review, this will always help.
I've had the opposite results @rank4less. Low-end products without reviews make me most of my money. My review sites really don't do as well.
I found that my low end products sold well but when i added reviews to them i lost alot of sales.., hope this helps
Probably because it added enough content on the page to make your affiliate link harder to find, for lower priced items people don't really want a review, they want to find where to buy it.
I have an Ebook that I sell on Amazon - first it had no reviews no sales, and probably for three months I haven't sold not even 1 book. Then I decided to write up some reviews as well as purchased the book couple of times (to change the sales rank, and ) and I did start to sell some books (again some month are zero, others are be 2-3 - but hey - that's way better than zero all the time right!)
It is also important that reviews have to be different and distinct in order to make them stand out in the crowd.
Yes they do, but the best results you will get with insightful and helpful reviews. Don't be afraid to recommend a different product from the currently reviewed ones, that might suit the visitor's needs better. Thats the nice thing in being an affiliate instead of a vendor that you can endorse other vendor's products and recommend the best one. Also its good to have also bad reviews not only good ones.
