Do Free Web Directories Help?

I have been included in about 15 free directories that are accepted by Alexa. How often does Alexa crawl these directories so that I can start building my links? Should I use paid directories even though Google supposedly frowns upon paid directories?

 

In my experience they help very little, if at all. The free link directories themselves have minimal SEO impact.

 

In my own experience, doing such a free submission on those web directories does not help me at all in my SEO work. I guess that if you do a web directory, it is more effective if you use the paid submission because right away it will be the focus of those web directories.

 

I think free directory submission is a waste of time, you can try the paid ones for results.

 

The biggest problem with the free ones is that half of them never get around to adding the listing. But lots of them only charge token amounts to list your site.

 

So pay ones are more worth it? What are some suggestions??

 

In my view free directories will get lot of traffic so u will have some scope of getting traffic
