As long as you don't encourage/ask people to click, I wouldn't worry about it.

but what if they do anyways? is there a way to make it disappear after a person has clicked for that day? or is that against TOS?

you can't stop them from clicking the ads on your forum. I'm sure that is the purpose you put your ads there. Like shawn said, as long as you not asking them to click the ads, you don't have anything to worry.

Whatever you want to do with it, good lucks. But for me, I want as many people as I can to see the ads so the exposure of the ads is higher so does the potential of revenue for you. You have to choose whether you want to make a website for revenue as just for fun. For me, I go for the money all the way, although me too, have a forum where I can have a good dicussions with my friends, but I still put adsense there

i'm just afraid of the almighty ban letter. i bet there's nothing like reading one of those in the morning and screaming "noooooooooooooooo" while your coffee spills all over the floor :p

my site isn't exactly for tech saavy people. i just dont want someone with good intentions to actually bring about my demise (in google adsense world)

most forums inadvertently end up with one or two disgruntled members who, if they are aware of the consequence, might choose to go on a clicking frenzy.
It is for this reason i keep adsense off forums.
In my opinion the risk isn't worth the potential gain, which in the case of forums is often very little.

As long as u dont tell ppl to click..its ok....Google does not directly cancel ur acc. It will ask for the clarification or pursue you to rectify the improper material or case.

I had been notified about the stuff which they thought was against their guidelines. I simply removed that stuff and they were happy..my acc. was again restored!

So dont be so sarcastic about these matter.

I've been on the site mentioned in this thread and it did in fact ask them to "just click on the ads" and to just type something in the google search and go with it and then to back page to the site again. Is this a violation or something? What's the big deal?

Yes, it's called FRAUD! And I suggest you read the TOS and guidelines before getting started.

    thanks

So if you wanted to report someone for setting up a site and using it to make money by telling people "just click on the ads so I can make money and use it to make us a really cool site" what would you do?

I am curious? Wouldn't it be obvious that someone was doing this on purpose to cause trouble? If perhaps someone got mad at a forum leader and decided to recruit people to get even, there are lots of bored people out there who have nothing better to do than to cause drama. Would it still be a problem if someone got a bunch of people on the site who have memberships but are more loyal to another forum to click like crazy on the site? What would happen? Wouldn't they realize it was just a bunch of troublemakers?

I am thinking of using this on college forums to raise money but I wonder if the competing clubs would cause a problem like this. Is this why you are not supposed to say anything about clicking on the ads. It wouldn't even be worth it then. Is there any way around this happening?

You need to fill out form #P777AD in triplicate and send verified copies of your ID and a complete CV and motivational letter to Adsense Police and join the corps. :D

    Seriously though:
