Do forum pages get indexed by Search Engines?

I have 5 forums - 2 YaBB, 2 pbpBB and 1 SMF based. Can these forums be optimiezed for SEO? Do they get indexed and do I need to download something for this? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, forum pages get indexed by Google...the more quality backlinks to your site, the higher the chance your deep pages will get crawled and indexed.

 

yes they get indexed however to make sure you are not wasting your time install seo quake and check the threads and links

 

The 'nofollow' plugin for firefox is also very good.. I use that in conjunction to seo quake

Yes they can be optimized for seo. If you want to get your forums indexed faster you can also ping them using various services on the web. Just google around and you will find plenty of pinging services at your finger tips.

 

Yup forum pages is indexed by Google. I have even seen some of my post get indexed by Google in certain keyword especially in webtalkforums, digital point, v7n and webcosmo forums..I think Google just love fresh content

Google can and does index forum pages, BUT like any site they do not crawl too deeply into any site that does not have many links to them.

There are things that you can do to make sure that your forum's threads do get indexed ... and hopefully ranked for the long tail search's.

On one of my forums, ALL threads are greater than PR1 (except the most recent ones since the last toolbar export)....they also spam magnets because of that!

 

Forum pages do get indexed by search engines. Sometime when you search for a phrase, usually in the form of a question, forum pages are displayed on SERPs.

 

They get indexed but they are not optimized for seo. For my phpbb forum in the webmaster tools in my google acount the most important words for my forum are words that don't mean anything and are used for navigation or are names of users. Blogs are better in seo than forums. You can make things better by adding some seo plugins and using them to change the forum.
