Questions: I see quite a few blog owners switching their blogs to Do Follow. 1) How does owner of do follow blog make money? PR of his pages would be reduced since he gives away PR juice which means less revenue in long term. Or maybe he makes more from PPC and affiliate programs since he gets more visitors/ traffic ? 2) Also would Google penalise sites which list do follow blogs like http://www.dofollowblogs.com ?
dofollow blogs bring traffic to webmasters.(some of my blogs are dofollow, brings traffic but no return) And dofollow blogs bring lot of spam too!
Does "giving away PR juice" really make that much of a difference in the long term performance of a blog? So many people obsess about PR but not about their site's content. My blogs are dofollow and they get great rankings for my targeted keyword niche. I know other people who have had their PR slapped down in the last update but so no decrease in traffic. High PR does not automatically equal money. Low PR does not automatically equal no money. The reason a lot of high PR sites got that way is because they made great content and wrote articles that people blogged about and linked to and bookmarked. Ultimately, it's all about the content.
I got to agree with Mr. Dee. Worry about your content, be creative in this respect. Do/no shouldn't really matter.
yea basically PR means nothing, unless you're selling links that valued based on PR. it really has very little to do with your rankings, and in fact in my own experimentation i have found that linking out to relevant sites can help your rankings just like getting backlinks can. however, i doubt i would make any of my blogs DoFollow... too much crap out there
You cannot "give away PR juice." Google doesn't detract from your pagerank if you have dofollow links on your blog. What happens is the amount of pagerank which is passed via each link is reduced. So if you have a PageRank 3 blog, and have 5 dofollow links on it, each link will get 1/5 of the pagerank authority passed to it. If you change that to 2 dofollow links and 3 nofollow, then each of the 2 dofollow links will now get 1/2 of the power of the pagerank passed to them; thereby increasing their change of getting a better pagerank. Check out my blog on internal link authority CAVEAT: If you have a spam blog and you're selling links, or have too many links to bad neighborhoods, then Google may not only detract from your pagerank, they may delist you and blacklist your site altogether.
I think dofollow is much better for blog owners as compared to nofollow. In case of dofollow, owners can expect more comments coming to their blogs
IMHO DoFollow is a desperate move to drive some traffic. And while it seems a good way to increase your traffic I think your revenue won't increase because mostly spammers will visit your site and they don't convert at all. Not to mention that linking to just any site with DoFollow could actually damage your site.
