Hello, I am still confused about which blog is do follow and which blog is no follow.. some blogs have nothing in it no, dofollow/nofollow tags in source code...Please tell me the easiest way to know it is dofollow or not..Please
When you visit a page, in Firebox browser, Ctrl+U, see the page source code, if it contains "nofollow" it is a nofollow blog. Same thing in IE, but need to goto View | Source.
A nofollow link looks like following. <a href=...... rel=nofollow>anchor text</a> or <a href=...... rel="external nofollow">anchor text</a> Code (markup): Search status is a very good tool. A page can have some dofollow and some nofollow links. Most wordpress blogs nowadays have dofollow links in blogroll and posts but comments are nofollow.
does anybody know if, by using no follow tags for unimportant pages, I can boost page rank of my "follow" pages that I wish to rank for?
Use SEO for Firefox plugin which automatically highlights the nofollow links on the webpage with other analysis in the search results..
Try to Install the Searchstatus or SEO 4 Firefox. Both are good tools for indicate the which link is nofollow or do follow.
Search the source code to see specific items are nofollow or not. There could be other nofollow tags but the comments or other areas are untouched. As far as I know there is no such thing as a dofollow tag and this forum practices no nofollow.
Not to be that much confused ,do follow in which link will crawled by the googlebot or any other crawler but in nofollow you will not crawled by the crawler for any other information please go through my blog manika-webdevlopment.blogspot,or for any seo related queries mutants.in
If you use search status, go to the menu and turn it on, then visit a few pages, normal links are grey, no follow ones are pink
I actually beleive Google still follows links that have no follow. However by placing a no follow I also beleive through experience using it that Google does not pass any link weight to pages being linked that have a no follow. So hence you can use no follow to contain page rank on a certain page. Look at Wikipedia, all external links have no follows, this is why Wikipedia pages have such high pagerank because they contain the page rank all within the Wikipedia site. If you don't beleive me go use Search Status on Wikipedia and look at External links.
Install the "no do follow" plugin from FireFox, it is very simplistic and doesn't chew up much memory.
