"Do-follow links"..how is it useful?

Dofollowed inbound links would not only help in PR purpose but also for SERP purpose if only they come with correct keywords as anchor text.

Agreed. It can be a jungle out there, unless you have good spam protection like Akismet, they catch A LOT of spam! There definitely are a few perks to not flipping on the rel="nofollow" switch.

 

Make an example:
You have a website www.xxx PR is 1, then you have a "Dofollow Link" from a site www.yyy PR is 7, and people can click your "Dofollow Link" from www.yyy onto your site www.xxx, it's very good for www.xxx's PR, maybe 2 or 3.
That's why some sites, its Alexa Rank is more then 20 million, but its PR is 3 or 4. Cuz it's supported by a big Bro site.
BTW, dofollow links is the Key for Search Engine.

A lot of people get hung up on this do follow/no follow thing.

From what I've read, this only applies to Google; not to Bing/Yahoo.

Personally, I don't really care about follow or not; a good PR inbound link is a good link... And I am getting some love from Yahoo/Bing regardless of follow or not.

 

dofollow links are the reason why all of us are having signature here I guess.It will transfer the PR to your site.

i have more than 500 page rank 3 website backlink but my page rank is 0.

 

Do-follow links pass PR, no-follow do not. Both count as external votes to your site, but only do-follow passes page rank to the recipient.

Maybe you just need to wait for the next PR update. Give it time and don't stress about it. My main site is still a PR0, but I am still on page 1 for 2 search terms, 1 with 820 million competing and another with 540 million. PR0's outrank high PR's all the time, don't sweat it.
