hey guys, Recently, I have noticed that many people here on DP want to know the effects/ill-effects of do-follow blogs and commenting on them for SERP, pr and traffic. Am I right? (I hope so ) So, I have this site I am working on now as a case study/experiment. Of course the site is mine, for now. Here: Herbal home remedies (Yeah the one in my signature) If you notice, it has got around 30 articles totally unique. Backlinks are only 18-20, don't know how that happened though. Now I thought that it would be a great idea to try a live experiment on it so as to interpret the result that do-follow blog commenting would show for my site. This is what I will be doing for my site. Comments on Do-follow blogs only. Auto approved comments. PR3-PR6 to begin with. And, the blogs will be reputed and will have very less comments on them to give a good link juice. Add some content now and then. I am targeting 3 keywords at the moment. And for all the 3 keywords I have no ranking whatsoever. I have done like 5-6 comments so far and it's all gone good. I will do commenting myself for like 10-15 days and wait to see the results in terms of search engine ranking on google, page rank and traffic, etc. Current stats: 2-3 uniques a day only 1-2 clicks each week(thats like onlt 1-2 cents a day on average ) No search engine ranking on google for any of the keywords No pr 30 unique articles (94 indexes though) This would help you guys know the effectiveness of do-follow blog commenting on the site which will clear out many questions and doubts in people's mind about it. I will be updating this thread for some days on the progress I have achieved with my site. I would love to hear your suggestions and view point which will obviously help me with this experiment/case study.
Love the idea! And I'm definately interested to see your findings. Personally, i don't think blog commenting will have a very large impact - but i'd love to be proved wrong.
I've been there and done it all... I guarantee that you will eventually move up in the Sep's, but it DOES TAKE TIME! I personally got tired of spending soooo much time on linkbuilding, I now prefer to leverage my time by using linkbuilding services Good luck with your experiment!
well, Let's see how it goes. It really depends on the competition you have for the particular keyword you are targeting.
I got a do follow list here. use it if its handy http://www.buckdat.com/2009/10/effective-link-building-galore-unique.html
Yo man. You should experiment with my site. Build links and that way we can both confirm whether blog comments work or not
Yeah that was a good one. But jokes apart if you want me to do do-follow blog commenting I can do for you. Let me know I will send you the quotations.
That's what I'm talking about. You've thought out your plan, set your goals and you're going for it! Please post the results here so that we all can see and learn from your efforts. That's what this forum is about. I've subscribed to this thread so I'll check back. (If you can take a snapshot of your current Google Analytics that would be even better) I've said this many times, but also include some .edu links in your strategy. You don't even need that many, just the right ones. I swear by them. You can use http://www.edublogfinder.com
Don't worry mate, I have already built a list of .edu/.org do-follow sites have PR3+++ and accompanying it are normal do-follow blogs of PR2++++ which also includes one PR7. So, I think I should get rollin and btw I am only building like 4-5 links a day.(only do-follow blog commenting)
I am very curious on how this turns out. Please don't be like everyone else and not update the threads like they say they will.
Well, All I can say is that I am conducting this experiment and as soon as I see the results coming in I will definitely update the thread. I will really try my best though and will try to keep it alive
That's great. I think you could even get away with a few more especially if you're deeplinking but in any event, please do at least one thing after every comment. Ping the page where you left the comment immediately afterward so that it is crawled. Use http://www.pingoat.com or http://www.pingler.com and bookmark them also. Most people have no idea the difference this makes.
Do follow will surely help i have seen it personally for one of my site, all you have to do is make sure that your link gets indexed by the search engine or else there is no use.
okay guys Update - I just checked the backlinks and I am seeing PR5s and PR4s cracking in. All these are do-follow blogs only.
blog commenting helps - but as part of a link building strategy. I doubt it will have a major effect on its own. Will be interesting to see though.
