Do facebook game applications earn money?

I just wonder if a facebook game who has about 500k monthly visitors make money?

or maybe how much a game in this standards can sell a banner?

Definetly able to earn money through special features or obtain certain item if you pay such as credits and etc but biggest income is from advertising.

I personally build the games into facebook apps, you get paid for people playing the game as well as the ads that are around the site.

I use my own ads linking to offers and services that I get paid on.

Facebook game applications to make money are just awesome, you still need to promote and do some work But I find they go viral faster than other apps.

They can make money by implementing facebook credit system as well. If you need to get in to higher level soon, you can buy facebook credits and convert them into points... Football Zynga is making a big money that way.

 

I've noticed a lot of facebook games, like farmville allow you to try a service (like netflix) and you get credits in return. I believe facebook will be integrating a similar service with there new Facebook Credits coming out soon.

Sure why not? It would be a waste if it didn't gain any money at all. Consider an ad could give him enough for weekly revenue. Also, if the game gives their user an option to buy credits, then 500k traffic could be really substantial enough to generate income.

 

I have been reading about Facebook app development on every other forum so definitely its something which is good stepping into because i don't think all those programmers are just wasting their time in coding free to play games for people. it can be converted into cash by many possibilities like ads, game credits, premium player status just to name a few. not sure about the approx amount you can make by this but still its not something which will hurt you if you put a small budget into a good game.
