Hello, There are a lot of stories around the internet on Twitter stealing your pagerank and giving nothing back (no follows). Is this also the case on YouTube and Facebook? I like to believe it isn't. Julie
Most social network and bookmarking sites are nofollow. But they're not 'stealing' pagerank - they don't take anything from you.
Stealing page rank? How are they supposed to be stealing page rank??? I've never heard of anything like it! If you mean they rank higher than you for something, that is because they have more page rank and are considered an authority site.
If you link to your Twitter, Facebook, etc page you are sending PageRank to that page. The amount of PR is minimal, but if you are concerned about it you can nofollow the links going to the sites.
There is no terminology called Page Rank Stealing. yes the major popular sites have no follow, so you dont get benefited from them.
By STEALING it was only a figure of speech, not actual terminology. I was talking no follow. Thanks for the replies though. Julie
uha ... i think all links are treated the same .. my website has PR3 and its facebook page is PR4 .. lol ?!
