A forum I use which is run by a big company is banning the use of remotely hosted images in posts and signatures as it claims it is using too much of its bandwidth. Is it true that it effects their bandwidth despite the images not even being hosted by them? Thanks for your time.
No, when a page is displayed in a browser it directly requests images from their respective URLs and does not requests the site to go fetch it.
