Do domain names on regions, towns cities etc sell for big bux?

    If i purchase domain names of cities, regions villages etc?

    will people, companies etc actually pay decent cash for them?

    all advice from season pros would be most grateful, links etc...

    It pretty much depends on the opportunities offered by that city, region, village.
    Most of them sell for traveling purposes.
    Some for online communities.

    When related to one type of business, that could bring some decent money. Especially if the business has a somehow geographic approach.

    Like "Courier Services". People would associated their town, or the destination town related to the business. Like "Montana Courier", "Hawaii Travel" etc... you get the point.

    First analyze these opportunities, then decide to buy or not. If you rush in, you might just get a huge portfolio to sell for $1 later.

    geo domains are quite popular, finding ones with any decent population in .com or popular ccTLDs for respective regions is virtually impossible these days.

    Yes. As mentioned above, these are called Geo Domains (Geographical).

    If you can get a dot com version of a decent sized city/state then they are valuable. Dot net and dot org can be valuable for major cities as well, but I believe they are all gone.

    Also, as mentioned above, some ccTLD domains might have value if the country has adopted their ccTLD.
