do domain name effect the rate of seo. I don't have money to purchase those short .com etc domains, and I want to know if it will hurt my site if I dont.

No. Actually, longer domains can sometimes be better(around 10 characters) because you can work your targetted keywords into it. Which gives you a boost.

I'd agree with that. You get a boost for having keywords in the domain name and an extra boost apparently if the search term is the exact name of your domain. It is a small boost, but it counts. No need to worry about not getting a 3 or 4 letter domain.

    Best

ROFLS to whoever sent me a negative rep for my answer here with the text "wrong."
As much as that stung, I'll somehow go on living knowing I probably wipe my pampered hindquarters with your yearly paycheck.
I know my stuff on SEO, and don't doubt me. Especially if you don't have enough guts to come out here and post WHY you think I'm wrong.

I've taken to branding my sites around the keywords in the domain names when possible, I find it achieves results faster. With zero content on the site in my signature I'm ranking for "mma fantasy league" as I used that as my domain name. The only backlink I have are in my sig here in DP. I just put it in to see how it would rank with that alone. Now I know I could have ranked highly for that search term using the domain dkghdsgs.com if I'd wanted, but it would have taken more time (and money). Once my site design is created then I'm already on the first page, it wont be long and I'll be position 1.

And yes, I'm fully aware its not a competitive search term. But I dont have the search term in any backlinks at all, just the actual domain. I thin if you can get domains with your keywords in them (without making them too long) then its definetely a better way to go.

    My dear friend

Either it is a short domain or long domain it will never effect in terms fo seo. second thing is that having long domain or short domian will never effect any visitors if it is meaningful.

Foreg. irnk.com is very difficult to remember but livelifehealthy.com is very easily memorable so the thing is either short or long domian will never effec seo or visitors if it is understandable.

Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
