    Directory listings really help with SERPs. Much more than plain text links. Content in the description is making the difference.

    Directories are very usefull to built up backlinks to improve SERPS and/or PR.

    Also sometimes you see the directories in the SERPS. It depends on the keywords you use in your submission.

    Directories links are very good for serp, even if they are on pages with low PR.
