Do Directories Work?

    I've bought manual submissions to directories about two weeks ago, which were all PR 4+, yet my PR for my site has stayed the same still. So I'm just wondering, do directories actually help bring your PR higher, and I just need to wait some more, or are they just a scam?

    Anyone want to share their experiences?

    ive submitted my new directory to ~700 directories less then a week ago, and now my predicted pr is 3 (the site directory was made about 2 days before i submitted to the directories)
