Do directories give you PR? because i have a PR0 & i entered my domain to about 40 Directories so far from pr0-7 should i expect any PR upgrade on the next google update?
They will help a little bit, but 40 submissions will proably give you 20-30 indexed links, most of which will be from PR0 pages.
i actually do have 37 but when i count them on google it says 12 anyway so how many submissions do i need to get to PR1 and are the counted as a normal link
40 submissions? Maybe a PR1 if you are lucky. Yes, directories do help with pagerank. Just as important is that they help you rank for your anchor text (title of your submissions). If you submit to the list in my sig, you'll hit a strong PR 3 or a weak PR 4. It's the same list I use to submit client sites to. By the way, don't chase after high PR free directories. If you want to list in them, spend a few bucks for an express review. With everyone chasing PR these days, those high PR free directories have large backlogs of free submissions. It may take months for them to review your submission.
I think that pagerank is about different factors you must need to know and learn different stuff as well like directories submission , link exchange and many stuff . To know more about it Google Pagerank What to know about it
but ur site vmoptions.com is a PR3 how is it going to give my a strong PR3 or a weak PR4? explain.....and how long does it take to google update my pagerank?
Its odd these days how the people who are telling us all about the benefits of being listed in pay for inclusion directories are the the owners of those pay for inclusion directories. Most other folk (and SEs) see them for what they are.
For the record, I did not say to list in my site but to submit to my list. And it's free BTW... Please read my entire post next time
Do PAID directories send a site more traffic than every other 'free' directory combined - hell yes, they do! If I owned a pay-for-REVIEW directory, would I put on my homepage, "Don't pay for a review of your site, my directory is bollocks, and I'm only here to steal all your money and watch search engines hammer you like nails"?! Finally, Correct me if I'm wrong, and I apologise for inadvertently promoting your directory club, but doesn't Google, in their FAQ's, guide webmasters to submit their sites to Dmoz (Free) and Yahoo (PAID!!!!!!!!!!!!). Amen If only I could make flashing text on the forum, I might finally be able to bring this matter to your attention.
I can smell the odour of links for sale on your breath from here spidey. I guess that the hundreds (or thousands) of paid directories that have been penalised for being link/pr sellers are excluded from your (fallacious) broad generalisation. It is patently absurd to compare a truly comprehensive directory like Yahoo with millions of listings and hundreds of thousands of categories with the vast majority of pay for inclusion directories whose benefit to anyone is largely based on smoke and mirrors. And it is inclusion that people are paying for, to say otherwise is delusional.
firstly this site in my directory http://www.bidlink.eu/link/75.html wich i also own,had only 4 links before the update and it was 2 from my directory and 2 from a website portfolio and get pr3 so 40 submisions to quality directories will get you pr.As for the argument you have,i start my directories so i can benefit my sites and my customeers site to get high serps and decent pr so if the ignorance of nebucha makes all the directories except yahoo dmoz and botw the same there is no way you can convist him for anything else just let the guys who know be your clients.
well it should help you but I would say submit to pr2 and above directories if you want to see some results otherwise I dont think you will, anyway good luck
40 submissions may not even show ya 2 backlinks in google. I have over 400 submissions for one of my website only to free directories, BUT only 15 showup. It totally depends whether that page where your link is indexed, is it gone into multiple backpages, its kinda spam category with many sites listed and many other factors. But yes PR does come in PR1-PR4 is what I have achieved submitting to free directories. Good option maybe to wisely choose categories in free directories and submitting to Paid Directories too.
you should submit to 1000+ directories... to have a good pr... or go for non directory links also if you can't afford more directoies.
