Yes, your link in a directory is counted as a backlink. The search engines find your links and rank your for the words contained in that link (aka anchor text).
In my experience directory link counts as backlinks as well...they're good for SEO. Not many directories bring traffic though, only the top ones...like alivedirectory.com or avivadirectory.com
Hello... As far as im concerned they do have their SEO benefits and the best way to do organic linking. laterz malcolm
I just thought it was to help increase links on Google and search engines, not be counted as a direct backlink. Thanks though.....I just didn't know
lol, thanks I am just trying to Get my Page rank up and they said the best way to do that is Backlinking.
they do count of course, its one of the best link building ways, however unless u are a directory owner, u dont really need page rank, your target should be better rankings in the serps and more traffic to your website.
In addition to quality backlinks, many of our customers' sites get higher SE rankings from our directory than their own sites obtain. This does in fact bring them visitors they otherwise would not get. The expense and effort to promote a directory can not be underestimated.
It's a backlink like any other. It's weight is determined by the power of the site. (Just like any other)
it is considered as backlink though the quality of the link do matters. Better the directory, better the link juice from it
