Sites without content never must be allowed in directories... in my opinion this could be a cheap way for advertising domains for sale...

    Regards.

    Yep, same here.
Especially people who submit forums without anything, or heaven forbid, new directories with no links in them.

Or blogs that are like 3 months with no postings.

Even paid, I do not accept such sites.

Same here, when you compromise quality, you're losing in the long run.

You can just upload some lame content and then switch it. Thats one way of getting around it if your content will be disputable?

That is why every directory script should include a "report bad link" feature.

In the short run that works. But most quality directories re-review sites from time to time, and if your site has changed to content that doesn't meet the directory's editorial standards, your listing will likely be deleted.

Also, switching content shortly after submitting to a directory is a well known tactic employed by spammers, so I think that most directory owners keep tabs on this.

That's a good idea! Heh - competitors will probably pick this up faster than directory owners...

Directories are all about quality, what good is accepting a site into a directory when you don't have a clue what it is going to be because it is empty. Defeats the whole object.

If you accept sites without content, then you´re really not a directory, but some sort of linkfarm.
