Do comments on blogs count as backlinks?

If I leave a comment on a blog that allows you to post your website along with your name, does that count as a backlink?

Most of the blogs and blog platforms use nofollow for comments so Google doesn't count them as backlinks

 

Most of blog softwares uses nofollow tag for external links that's why it doesn't count as backlink.

what about wordpress blogs ? I thought that SE follows wordpress comment links ? how can I check whether the blog has a nofollow or not ?

 

You have to right click -> View Source Code -> Ctrl+F and search for nofollow
However wordpress adds by default the nofollow tag to comments

 

There are some blogs that don't use a nofollow.. look for those

TEST: If it shows up in technorati backlink, it has NO no follow.

 

So its a better idea to work on relevant contents in your blog

I tried doing the Backlink search [link:technorati.com] in Google but did not find my way out for getting Blogs with No nofollow tags.

 

yes I the links on blogs counts I have posted my site's url in many back links

 

so it does count, i just wish people will be responsible enough in using such so that se wont ban this "scheme"
