Do CB Affiliates Really Make Money?

I'm asking this because, I tried it and it never worked for me. In one of the campaigns, I got 1000 clicks and still not even a single sale.

What did I do wrongly? I still haven't got a straight answer as to why I never made it.

Something else, I once read one Ad where the writer claimed to have made $600,000 +- then went onto say that he spent $700,000!!! Now, after reading that, I started to doubt whether CB Affiliate Market is for Tom, Dick and Harry.

Well, the claim was that Gross Profit was in the region of $1,3 Million, then when $700,000 Advertising Cost was deducted, a cool $600,000 Net Profit was pocketed.

Now, where would poor me get $500,000 Advertising Budget?

PPC is a tricky business, it dosent happen overnight. The secret is in learning exactly what you are doing at keyword level and track everything.

Once you try a product and dont manage to land sales, try another product or try another different technique.

Most affiliates test at least 10 products via ppc to find only 1-2 of them that yield a profit.

Once you have a profitable campaign all you have to do is scale it up and spend more (and get more in return)

Then you should reinvest the earnings again and again, the numbers add up and you dont need a big budget to get started.

Strictly speaking, you can turn $100 into a million if you can double(at least) the original amount and reinvest it a few times.

Those 1000 clicks of yours were not targeted then. Or the product does not convert! You should try at least 10 different products all with gravity >10 and target sending 100 presold visitors (hops) to the vendors page per day. You WILL see sales I CAN guarantee that. (Because I just did something like that in the last month and made $300).

There are lots of other ways to promote CB products. The world of advertising doesn't end with PPC.

Try some free methods, like article marketing, build up some cash then spend it on PPC if you want.

I dont use PPC I use bum marketing (writing quality articles and submiting to article directories)

and also SEO, this method gives me free organic traffic (search engine traffic) without spending a single penny.

and yes I still make a few sales in a month :)

hope this encorrage you to try bum marketing and good luck!

Only my affiliates tend to make any real money :)

Just kidding, yes Adwords can be tough what you should do is use Bum Marketing or Article writing to get some sales and then keep half of your profits and reinvest the other half in Adwords or product creation.

I made my first sale last week, I created a landing page, used some of the products promotional items and wrote a review/article on ezine. I have to say 4 clicks and I got a sale. I was really excited so we'll see where this goes.

i don't think it's about having a huge budget but to be creative, one ething i did was to change my bio info on ezine as well and started getting more clicks that way.

PPC is the most dynamic promotion you can use to sell products. Test keywords yourself and find the high targeted ones. Besides the traffic is a very important aspect that you need to think about. 1 quality traffic 1 sale, but if it is the poor traffic, 1 million traffic would never bring one.

I would start making a consistent $100/day before I even thought about venturing out in the world of PPC -- It can be quite treacherous

There are plenty of people making big bucks on CB. If your gonna promote on PPC you better plan what you do beforehand and research -- the right way.

You can still make a lot of money with free traffic.

Start off with free advertising and when you start to earn a few $$$ either save it or use it for paid advertising as in PPC or advertise a product on high traffic sites. In this economy right now, if you don't have a lot of funds to waste then do not do PPC unless you have been doing it for awhile and know what your are doing. This just my opinion.

Oh absolutely they do! The first product I promoted...well, I got 3 sales after 800 clicks. However, now, I am getting ~a sale per 30 clicks :)

    Hi Dell Mark,

What is your promotion? PPC, articles, blog or something else?

I know some top affiliates have 10% conversion. They use high quality keywords, that means high cost, too.

I think i know exactly who you are talking about. It is the people search engine guy right?
Well i tried it out in that niche but never made profits. OK i made some few sales here an there.

I think what he really wanted is to build his list! I don't think people search is that huge as he claims.

you got 1000 clicks but no sale?! the better expectation for 30 clicks =1sale or 50 clicks =1 sale.the convertion should be like that ..i think you doing a mistake by trageting locations..target right geo location otherwise u only see clicks but no selling .
